He was brought to the city and underwent an operation Monday, April 27, and for a time it appeared that he was going to make a speedy recovery, complications set in, however, and he passed away Monday evening. He is survived by his wife, a child but nine months old, and many relatives, living in various parts of the county.

Van Wert Daily Times, dated May 6, 1914 reported:

The funeral services over the remains of the late Edwin Feigert of Wren, who died at the Van Wert County Hospital Monday evening, following an operation for the relief of appendicitis, will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock, sun time, from the Germann Presbyterian Church in Harrison, with interment in the church cemetery.

Ed. Feigert of Daisy, who was taken sick recently with appendicitis and taken to the hospital at Van Wert, died there Monday evening at 10 o'clock. Deceased was 27 years old.

Daily Times, dated May 8, 1914 reported:

Edwin Feigert, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Feigert, was born in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, O., on Oct 1, 1888. He was incorporated into the German Evangelical Church of this place by Holy Baptism in early infancy. On April 5, 1903 he was confirmed and became a member of said church. until he entered into holy wedlock with Miss Fern Everett on Oct. 5, 1912, since when he became a faithful attendant of the Liberal U. B. Church of Wren, O., which church he joined and became an active member in the beginning of 194. This union was blessed with one daughter, Alice Virginia.

Edwin enjoyed good health until about two weeks ago when he took sick with grippe fever, which at first did not seem serious; all that physicians could do seemed of no avail and finally about a week before his death he was attacked by appendicitis. The severity of the last mentioned disease made it necessary for an operation; so on Friday, May , he was removed to the Van Wert County Hospital. The operation gave no relief, as it was found too late; he gradually grew weaker until death relieved his sufferings at 10:30 o'clock Monday evening, May 4, bringing his earthly pilgrimage to 25 years 7 months and 3 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure a loving wife, daughter, Alice Virginia, father and mother, sister Florence and brothers, Albert and Oscar, besides many relatives and friends.

He has gone from his dear ones, his child, his wife,

Whom he willingly toiled for, and loved as his life:

Oh, God! how mysterious and how strange are Thy ways,

To take from us this loved one in the best of his days.
