Newspaper unknown, dated February 3, 1899 reported:

Mrs. Ablomina Feigert, an aged and highly respected citizen of Harrison township, died last Sunday morning of old age. Deceased was seventy-four years of age and a pioneer of the county. She was the mother of John Feigert, of near Elm street, this city. Funeral services were conducted at the German Evangelical church of Harrison township Tuesday morning.

The death record listed her cause of death as lung fever. Apollonia was also listed as Aplonea. At the time of death, it was recorded in the church record that she was survived by 6 children, 38 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was buried on 31 Jan 1899 in 8th row, 10th stone from left of Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Convoy, Van Wert, Ohio.

Early Settler Dead.

Fred Feigert, familiarly known as "Grandpa," died at the home of his son Joseph, in Harrison, Monday night at about 9 o'clock. For over 60 years he has lived in Harrison, and was one of the early settlers. He is the father of our townsman, Jno. Feigert.

Obituary in the Daily Times of Van Wert, Thursday, January 5, 1905 reported:

The funeral services of Grandpa Feigert took place at the German Evangelical church on Wednesday, Jan. 4, '05. Mr. Frederick Feigert was born in Breidenheim, Hessen-Hamburg, Germany, Oct. 9, 1820. He emigrated to this country and in September of 1843, in Holmes county, 0., he was united in marriage to Abiloma Koehler. To this marriage were born ten children of whom five, two sons and three daughters and also Mrs. Feigert have preceded him in the great beyond. There mourn his death five children, Chas., Joe, Mrs. J. W. -Brittsan, of this township; Mrs. Philip Kreischer, of Convoy; and John Feigert, of Van Wert. There are also thirty-seven grandchildren and twenty-eight great grand-children. He died of old age on, Jan. 2, 1905, at the ripe old age of 84 years, 2 months and 23 days.

At the time of death, it was recorded in the church record that he was survived by 3 sons, 2 daughters, 37 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. The funeral services took place at the German Evangelical church on Wednesday, January 4, 1905. He was buried on 4 Jan 1905 in 6th row, 25th stone from left of the Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Convoy, Van Wert, Ohio.

May 14 1837 may be his immigration or his confirmation date. He may have moved to Van Wert from Holmes County. He was one of the first members of the German Evangelical Saint Paul Church of Van Wert.

Death of P. F. Feigert.

Peter F. Feigert died at his home in Connersville, Ind., Thursday. Mr. Feigert lived most of his life in this town and county. In an early day he was in the cigar business here, was twice elected Treasurer of this county in the early seventies, and a few years ago conducted a restaurant and cigar stand at Convoy. His nephews, Lewis and Emanuel Feigert, went to Connersville Friday morning to attend the funeral.

Peter Feigert, formerly a resident of this city and county, died Thursday morning at his home in Connersville. He served two terms as County Treasurer and afterwards engaged in the cigar business in Convoy. Lewis and Richard Feigert attended the funeral services, Saturday.

The death of Peter Feigert occurred at Connersville, Ind., last Wednesday at 4 p.m. Chas. Feigert, from near Daisie, and E. K. Kreischer, of this place, left for Connersville Friday. Mr.. Feigert was formerly a cigar manufacturer of this place and at one time was Van Wert county's treasurer.

The cause of death is Angina Pectoris. He was buried in Connersville, Fayette, Indiana. He was buried in Connersville City Cemetery in Section 4, 4E, lot 130.

He was a Civil War veteran and was wounded during the conflict. He had manufactured and dealt in cigars and tobacco in Van Wert of Ohio, Huntington of Indiana and Connersville of Indiana. In the Van Wert Weekly Bulletin of October 29 of 1869, it was announced that Mr. P. F. Feigert has opened a Cigar Manufactory and Tobacco Store in the rooms formerly occupied by Geo. Stripe, one door west of the Star Bakery. He was twice elected Treasurer of Van Wert County in the early seventies. He had operated a restaurant and cigar stand in Convoy. In 1899, he had a cigar store on N. Jefferson, Huntington and was living at 63 Matilda. In 1893, he had started a cigar manufacturing business in Connersville and his store was located on East Fifth Street. His popular 5-cent cigar was the Gentel.
